BOOK: M23 Myōgadani

A photographer's love letter to the Myōgadani Station neighborhood in Tokyo, Japan.

I've traveled to Japan every year since 2012, with the exception of its pandemic tourism closure 2020-2023. I returned in late 2023 for six months, staying in and falling in love with the forested Koishikawa neighborhood near Myōgadani Station, stop M23 on Tokyo Metro's Marunouchi Line. The station is built on the former site of the Myōga Inari Shrine, and the area includes Koishikawa Botanical Garden and Koishikawa Kōrakuen, former residence of the Tokugawa clan and one of Tokyo's oldest gardens dating back to the Edo Period (1603-1868).
