2-Minute Movie: Dream of Home (2025)

For your mid-week reflection, I humbly offer you…

Dream of Home is a meditation on my current life — where I feel both everywhere and nowhere. Shot entirely on a handheld Ricoh GR IV in September 2025. Music is my own composition.

Music: “Sequin” by J1L (Jill Corral) (2023)

If you like this, you may also enjoy Dream of You (2025).

Until next time!

This is fantastic, Jill! Each triptych video sequence offers so many layers to contemplate, and the music matches the mood perfectly. I also love how you ended the film with the single video from the moving train. Bravo!

A really compelling piece of work. Love the contemplation. B&W really makes us feel the images more.

Jill- Pretty much blown away, people dump on the GRiii’s video capabilities but you have made a perfect use case that doesn’t demand 4k hi def that requires image stabilization. Then the imagery and excellent juxtapositions with the right musical accompaniment makes for a very artistic piece!

Thank you, Paul! Well seen and said. What you say is true about its video reputation is true — and precisely why I “dared” myself to make a short film with it last year. It’s not for everyone, but the lo-fi handheld aesthetic really works for me. I also like the auto-focus blur effect; I am near-sighted and it makes it feel how I actually see the world.
