On playable artwork and world-building.

Tarot deck as art object.
I’ve forever been fascinated by game design, from board to video games, and especially those that involve world-building.
I also love spiritual arts and rituals, and so created a custom tarot deck with my own artwork for my own enjoyment. 78 images across the Major Arcana and the Minor Arcana of four suits of Cups, Pentacles, Swords, and Wands.

It was deeply joyful and satisfying work to reimagine my own visual themes in alignment with the traditional meanings of the cards.

CUPS
Flowers and blooms. The lush and savage spirit of life, imagination, and connection.SWORDS
Lines and wires. The currents of thought, tension, and clarity.PENTACLES
Buildings and architecture. The grounded structures of work, wealth, and time.WANDS
Trees and branches. The living impulse of energy, growth, and strength.
The guiding symbol (·) printed on the back of the cards represents a portal or an eye, and — when held up horizontally — looks like the lens of a camera.

I’m first exhibiting the deck in March 2026 in Tokyo, Japan where my Artist Talk will be a tarot reading.

—The Light Between—
The Monochrome Arcana
You stand at a threshold — between light and shadow, stillness and motion.
LIMINOCITY is a photographic tarot born in monochrome, where built and natural worlds intertwine.
Each image is a real moment. Let the cards invite you to look again at your world— and beyond it.
Thinking on your own photography and themes, what might your card suits be?
Thanks as ever for joining me in a space of art & curiosity.
