Happy spring, everyone! The 2nd issue is here.
Hello from Tokyo! Today is spring equinox here in the Northern Hemisphere, and I am excited to share with you the new issue of my photography arts magazine JOURNAL.
Thank you for so warmly receiving JOURNAL —No. 1 back in autumn — the launch of my long-time dream of creating a photography magazine. Your encouragement has been everything.

Intro from the issue:
[HOPE YOU LIKE FLOWERS]
Hello from Japan!
Flowers are strewn about this issue — blooming between the monochrome pages — like a garden or a walk in an April forest. Cherry blossoms, plum blossoms, globe flowers, yarrow, red valerian, and all manner of Swiss alpine wildflowers. Sakura, ume, Alpenblumen.
Welcome new readers and thank you to returning folks for joining me for the second issue of JOURNAL, and the first published on the spring equinox.
JOURNAL —No. 1 launched last autumn, and you surprised me beyond my wildest hopes. Deepest thanks to so many of you for buying and sharing the first issue — for welcoming it into your home and giving it the invaluable gift of your time and attention. It found its way around the world into ten countries, and peaked on Amazon Best Sellers list at #4 in Individual Artist Essays and #514 in Photography & Video. I sold out my limited Collector Edition in four days.
In an “interesting” geopolitical footnote: A rash U.S. Executive Order on imports impacted the Collector Edition that I’d planned to hand-ship from Switzerland, i.e. I had to cancel all U.S. orders. It was infuriating — AND it became a form of alchemy that fueled a new project: PhotoMail.
This photography era for me has been overwhelmingly about embodiment of visual arts — in print, on walls, in hands, in the mail, in shared physical spaces, and in the company of others. I’ve led photowalks as a Ricoh GR ambassador, taught photobook classes in Switzerland, sold prints at an art market for the first time, collaborated on and traded postcards and zines with fellow photogs across the world, and hauled massive exhibition prints through train stations and airports. Whew.
And it is an era for the integration of it all beyond this art form — into the other work I seek to do in this life. Get a taste of this in A Day of Looking.
Welcome to the second issue of JOURNAL.

Thank you as ever for joining me in art and a connected world.
