I am not a musician. I just like to jam and create ambient textures for my visual work. A few months ago, my friend Naruto asked if I planned to play a live set for one of my photography exhibitions. My first reaction was to laugh — me, perform my strange little sounds live? The thought had never occurred to me in my life. Now, I’m starting to think: Why not?

I dedicate this set to young spirits (of every age) who hype and inspire me to do new things and take new risks every day. Thank you.

Thanks for listening. Have a lovely weekend.

Why not, happy Beltane, and… you’re making me want a micro freak of my own 🤓😸♥️

Those Microfreaks are cool! I wanted one for a while, but I’ve been happy enough with my og OP-1 for years now and struggle to move on from it haha. This is super cool, love the vibe and soundtracking photos, I’ve done it before as well and I think you should at the very least record the sounds for your show to play during.

Thank you kindly! I love your idea to record something as a type of soundtrack for the event even if I don’t play love. I really really appreciate the encouragement, esp. from someone who gets it and has done it. : ) As to your OP-1 — cheers to that! I generally believe that knowing/using one thing really well is better than buying all the toys.

Well you’re very welcome, eager to see how it goes if you decide to do that. And yeah, I agree that mastering one tool, particularly when it comes to synths and samplers is definitely the move as it can get overwhelming very quickly.

Agreed. That said… my Sonicware Ambient Ø arrives tomorrow (!). : ) I’ve had the MF only for 5 years and want to play around on a 4-track as I’m feeling increasingly DAWless and it’s easily battery-powered to play in the forest etc.

Love that! One of the huge benefits of my OP-1 is being dawless and the battery still lasts forever even after 7 years. I’ve made beats by the ocean many times haha.

This is about the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. Also, the music is so intuitive and matches the imagery beautifully. Make more!

You are so kind. Much appreciated as I am a bit shy with this type of work. Thank you for listening and looking. <3
