JOURNAL launch August 20 + Ektar 100 love.

Happy Friday, everyone! It’s 30°C (87°F) here in Zürich and the quiet before the storm of the massive electronic music festival that will take over the city this weekend. My mind is on my upcoming photography magazine launch, book fair, and photo zine class this month and in early September.

I’m excited to announce that the first issue of JOURNAL has a launch date:
August 20!

This past week I finally finalized content and design, and ordered a few copies for review. Many, many hours and versions and drafts and home-printed mock-ups later…. today, I held it in my hands for the first time — and promptly shipped a copy off to New York for the Paris Photo-Aperture competition for photobooks. I’m entering it in the First PhotoBook category as it is the first on my new art book imprint LIMINART. (Wish me luck!)

I will have an initial limited edition run of 10 copies, that will be hand-dedicated/ signed and shipped or sold in-person by me along with a small print. It will also be available from Blurb and Amazon.

2. Ektar 100 Love

I love monochrome. I dress monochrome. I love lines and light in black and white. For many years now, I shoot 90% in black and white, but…

When I do color, I DO COLOR.

I love to load my little Fuji Natura S with Ektar 100 film, known for its saturated blues and reds and greens. I strictly use film for personal shots, so these are scenes from my life in early summer. The lushness and softness pleases my eyes. Enjoy the light leaks and sunny vibes!
